Resolution SC N° 171/16
Argentina has a resolution of mandatory compliance, which requires that all electrical and electronic products marketed within the national territory shall have a safety certification of compliance with essential safety requirements, issued by a product certification body. The certification bodies that take part in this mandatory system must be OAA accredited and recognized by the National Government. Pursuant to this Resolution, if products comply with the applicable IRAM or IEC standards, the essential safety requirements are considered fulfilled.
Resolution 171/16 came in to force on 5th August 2016.
